Tradition and sustainability from the heart of Muxika

At Bodegas Lapazaran, we welcome those who wish to discover an authentic txakoli, deeply rooted in its origin and crafted in the privileged natural environment of Biscay. Our winery, located in the Biscayan municipality of Muxika, stems from a commitment to the land, tradition, and a philosophy of life based on respect for the environment. Nestled between the Anboto, Oiz, and Mugarra mountains, and very close to the Urdaibai marshes—a Biosphere Reserve since 1984—our vineyards benefit from a unique location that directly influences the character of each wine. With 35 hectares, 25 of which are currently cultivated, our south-southwest facing vines and native grape varieties give rise to txakolis with an unmistakable identity.

Sustainability as essence

Our wines are the fruit of a harmony between nature, climate, tradition, and expert hands. Each bottle reflects the sensitivity of a family project that respects natural cycles and, from its inception, has maintained a firm commitment to sustainability. We work with responsible practices both in the vineyard and in the winery, guaranteeing production that is respectful and consistent with our environment.

Our winery

Since 2016, our winery has followed an exemplary ecological path. In 2018, we took a decisive step by installing photovoltaic panels, allowing our energy consumption to be 100% green. This commitment reaffirms our purpose: to produce quality wines without compromising the care of the land that sustains us.

Among our txakolis, Lapazaran 27 stands out, inspired by the passion of our winemaker, José Lapazaran, a 27-time champion of Herri Kirolak (Basque rural sports). This wine symbolizes the union between the strength of Basque rural sports and the elegance of our winemaking.
